seriously, every time we are around them we are star struck! they are THAT cool!!!

finally...soccer is here!

silas jack robinson is one intense soccer player. the last two practices he's told me,
"mom i don't want to practice anymore...i want to play a game!" we've got our first game on saturday. say a prayer that his 'ball hog' strategy would simmer!

maye's favorite toy

you should see how baby maye loves her first toy. she stares and talks to it like it is her best friend. elle and i laugh so hard just watching her smile at the thing.

there's a hamster in our house!

Wednesday, August 13, 2008
yesterday 4 young boys came to our front door begging us to take a 2 month hamster off their hands. they said their mom was going to throw it away!! i told them they would have to ask finley when he got home. so these boys sat on our driveway for 25 min waiting for him to get home. there was no doubt in my mind finley would have a big fat NO for them. but he didn't! he let the kids and i decide...and now...we have a baby hamster named shortcake living in our house.
this is exactly what she looks like...

LONG story short...there is a 7th grade boy that lives down the street. last night as i was feeding the baby he tried to walk up to me. his mom stopped him and told him what i was doing. apparently he didn't know what nursing was all about. he was shocked and after it all soaked into his brain...he said to his mom, "so...brooke is like a cow?" AND "so you are telling me when i get married my wife is going to have milk in her boobs?"
...story goes on...elle bell figured out what was going on and she looked at me and said, "when he gets married he is going to be surprised and impressed."
(impressed??!!)

something

do you remember sitting in class or Church getting the giggles about something, which was really nothing at all!? you can't stop them, start shaking, then you accidentally squeak and have to leave the room as you wipe mysterious tears from your eyes!! well, today as i was playing ref between "this one" and "that one" i decided punishment should be not playing with each other. so i sat "this one" in her room and "that one" in the hall. as i was sternly talking to "that one"...i realized "this one" was starting to giggle as she waited her discipline. i looked over at her and i said...it's not funny! she then said, in such a genuine and total girly way, i'm sorry mom, there is just something really funny. we stared at each other for a few seconds and then i started laughing so hard...so did she! we probably laughed about that "something" for a few minutes.
