CELL-ebration

On Wednesday night I had the privilege of going to Fellowship Student Ministries "CELL-ebration" at the Greek Theatre in Fayetteville. This marks the end of the small group season as we give our leaders a break during the summer. This was probably one of the most encouraging experiences during my five year ministry at Fellowship. I couldn't believe how many students in knew there. I realized that probably half of the students there had come through the middle school ministry while I've been on staff. The difficult thing about my ministry is that I rarely get to see the fruit of following Christ really lived out in the lives of the students. Its not until years later, when they continue to show up to worship the Lord, that I see, thankfully, my labor was not in vain. God continues to be faithful in drawing those students to himself and it is my prayer that they will seek him all the days of their life.

That's really cool. I liked Celebration when they moved it to the Greek Theater. Last year, I got to baptize one of my cell guys there, so it was extra cool. Although I had to do a "do-over" when I leaned him back the first time and the side of the baptismal hit his shoulders. I had to start the whole thing over after he repositioned himself. ALl of that in front of a couple hundred students and parents...very embarassing.
