brooke took some silly pictures of the kids today. i can't believe how big they look now. elle is totally a little girl and silas probably needs a haircut, but we just love his curls. have fun...

well last thursday (i had a crazy weekend) i took elle on a date. this was the first time that just the two of us had gotten to do something like this. i took her to see Cars at the Springdale movie theatre at 4:00 in the afternoon. we got a tub of popcorn and ate pretty much the whole thing. the movie was a little long for her (almost 2 hours) and towards the end she wanted to go home, but i wouldn't let her because it was the climax of the movie! we had a great time and she is still talking about our date (actually the popcorn) almost a week later.

i'm a little late in telling this story, but a couple weekends ago we went to Harrison for brooke to shoot a wedding. we went a little early to go see brooke's dad and cindy. we got to go to a friends pool in the morning and boy did silas have a great time. he LOVED the diving board. the routine was for him to crawl up on the board, run to the end, bounce twice, throw his head back and belly flop into my arms. he had floaties on, but it was totally up to daddy to keep him alive. i bet we repeated this process almost twenty times. it was tiring, but so worth the memory of him trusting me each time and finding such joy in jumping off the diving board.
