behind closed doors

well, tonight my son decided that he wanted to be different. instead of sleeping in his bed, he went into his sister's room and laid down. when brooke and i went to get him, he had locked the door! well, we spent about five minutes picking the lock so that we could move him back into his bed. i had no idea how hard it would be to pick that lock. a little scary, but also a good challenge (apparently brooke has developed this picking skill while i've been away at work.) anyway, there is our robinson adventure for the evening.

They make little tools designed just for that purpose. We had little hands locking doors all the time around our house, so, we have two of the little tools. Basically, they are simply specialized flathead screwdrivers. I can't remember where we got them, but if you are interested, I could probably find out.
