Cell-e-bration

Thursday, April 26, 2007

tonight we had our end of the year Cell-e-bration up at fellowship. we got all of our students together (7-12th) grades for a time of worship, reflection and we baptized seven students. everyone brought a dinner and most groups dressed up. we've been at the greek theatre before, but we chose to have it in the new student center this year (good call since it rained.) i spoke for a few minutes from romans 14:17-18 and talked about the importance of being about kingdom of God and seeking righteousness, peace and joy, instead of eating or drinking or whatever cell group might have been for you in the past year. it was incredible to have so many students worshiping together at one time. hopefully this link to my facebook page will work so you can see a little of what went on.

ever wonder why

a couple of random facts about our kids...

1.) they share a small mattress section in silas' room.
2.) silas loves ears. it is his love language. count it a privilege to have him play with your ears when he is tired. this means he loves you. its how he falls asleep every time.
3.) elle sneaks into our room every night and sleeps on the small loveseat we have in there. i never hear her, but she's been doing this almost since she got out of her crib.
4.) this picture that i snuck in a took tonight should answer any questions you might have about the previous statements...

Easter Eggs

Sunday, April 08, 2007

well, elle is beginning to ask about the easter bunny now, and so we are politely playing along. i don't want to encourage it, but don't want to kill it at the same time. i'm totally riding the fence on the easter bunny, santa, tooth fairy stuff. not inherently bad, but probably creates some false ideas about what the day's celebration is all about. i guess we'll have some reteaching to do sooner or later. anyway, tomorrow is easter, so we dyed some eggs. the kids had a great time...
