an email from my wife

Friday, November 16, 2007
i received this email from brooke this afternoon as i traveled home from a short trip to Orlando (business, not pleasure). dad to the rescue...

so far since silas has been home (2 hours) he's:

destroyed gam gam's clothes piles
shredded the yellow plastic that holds the newspapers
stood in the newly sprayed grass holding the sign and told me
repeatedly, "this sign says stay off grass"
head butted me in the nose...in which i hear it pop twice...he cried
cause it hurt his head so bad...um what about me?
broke a blue ink pen...spraying blue ink all over the carpet and his
pants...fingers toes
almost sent his golf club though the glass on our entertainment center
snotted on two shirts
frustrated the dickens out of elle...
got a good spankin...
and has asked over and over for someone to wrestle with him

can't wait for you to get home!
love,
silas

video

we grabbed this with our camera phone
jumping off the couch to daddy...what a great new game!

the fort

well, we had a full day today. i got the itch after dinner to do something different with the kids beside wrestle (our most common evening activity). so i reached into the closet and back into my days as a 10 year old boy and decided to make a fort. i had some design issues and first and definitely some stability issues with a 2 and 3 year old climbing inside, but overall, the fort was a big hit. we had a little bed section inside on the couch, a couple of secret entrances, and of course the tv for our fort entertainment. we hid from mom, dragons, and bears and had a great time being little kids. i must say, even my wife was surprised at how big the fort was. definitely a good time with the fam.

at the park

today we went to the park with our good friends joseph and lindsey. it was good to have them back after their work overseas in southeast asia. their little girl anna loved playing with elle in the train at gulley park, which gave us guys a good chance to catch up on life, ministry, and our families. what can i say, josh and joe are two of my favorite dudes in the world!

new lens

brooke got a new macro lens today for some upcoming weddings. hopefully it will help her grab some of those really close pics at receptions...

where Silas took his nap today

Friday, November 02, 2007
the following is an email that my wife sent out on Monday and it is definitely blog worthy. enjoy!

well let me start by saying...i was pranked today! i thought the kids were napping...and when i woke up from a 10 min cat nap...Elle and Silas were not sleeping, but eating cookies and fruit snacks (and smiling!!). Actually all i saw were the cookies, but later elle confessed they had fruit snacks first before the cookies.
Now check out these pictures...this is where the day got the best of little Silas...NO JOKE...he fell asleep here...on his chair, drooling.
i love it!
