well, i took my 4 1/2 yr old daughter (can't belive she's that old) on a date last night. we swam at the pool, got changed and headed to the tyson indoor track center to see taylor swift. so much fun! elle had watched some of her videos on youtube and really likes "Our Song." she played it at the beginning, so elle was content to leave after only two songs. well we stayed for a while longer, bought a glow stick and danced around until it was time to go get shakey's ice cream. she was such a joy to be with and i loved holding her up so that she could see the stage. i love being her daddy!

one month ago...




and today...

if you could just hold her! she is this precious...

i caught a glimpse of God's delight yesterday.
elle cut the crud out of her knee...and immediately when she fell
she yelled for her daddy to get her one of two things that may comfort her, "BLANKET or ICE please". she was crying so hard that she could hardly speak these words...they were at the bottom of her exhale.
so as finley went to get her some ice elle was crying and squirming trying to figure out a way to comfort herself in the midst of being patient. she found that shaking her leg helped...she also said that the wind made it feel better. so she shut her eyes and said, Jesus...more wind please, more wind. and immediately more wind...more wind blew in. elle looked at me in utter belief that what she just asked for came true.
i just stared at her "faith in action" and longed that i too had such child like faith.

just found a pretty sweet website. pandora.com is internet radio that basically allows you to pick a favorite artist and then they compile a playlist of similar music. you can even open up a song that you like in itunes and purchase it! pretty sweet. i hope to find a few new artists this way. i realize that i'm getting old and pretty stale in the music and artists i listen to. hope this helps me break out of my funk.
