an Angel at Chicfila
So, the kids and I headed to Memphis on March 27th to meet up with Finley. We were finally on vacation, here we come sandy beach!! As most of you know i'm terrified of long distance driving. I always get lost and not knowing where i am alone with 3 kids is very scary to me.
On with the story. The kids and I made it to Memphis, I only missed one exit. BUT the next day is another story. Finley gave me specific instructions to wake up Sat morning, drive to the pottery barn outlet, have an intensive look around...then meet him at Chicfila at noon.
Well, i forgot the GPS at home so i made sure to get exact directions from a very reliable source. However, these promising directions took me to the old pottery barn location...about 45 min from where I was suppose to be. CRUD-OL-A!!!!!
I managed to make it to the exit Fin told me to meet him. And i found Chicfila.
I decided to totally scrap the pottery barn eye candy and instead feed my kids.
While we were eating this crazy hippy looking woman set her food on the table beside us and immedatly started talking and touching all three of my children.
Weird?! YES! She immediately told me that the only thing missing from this table was another baby boy! I looked at her like, "oh...now that would send me directly to the nut house". (somewhere in here i asked her name..bobby) She touched Maye and started talking about her blue eyes...then said "this baby looks just like her older brother". Suddenly the lady is catching Elle's lunch from falling on the ground and cleaning up ketchup from Elle's lap. After she had one final cuddle session with my kids she shut her eyes and said outloud, "Lord...Oh I pray for this family, that you would bless them and that they would enjoy every day they have on earth." Finally, i started to really like this woman. I asked her if she had grandbabies...and she looked up at me as if that was the silliest question in the universe. She looked me square in the eyes, laughed and said, "No."
Two seconds later my phone rings...it's Fin. Guess what?? I'm at the right exit...wrong Chicfila. Bobby smiled at me as i was about to cry and i asked her, where's the other Chicfila? She gave me quick directions and i thanked her. I promise I looked down for one second and she was GONE!
It didn't take me long to figure out that maybe God looked down on me from Heaven and said Bobby...i've got a live one for ya. Go help Brooke. Call me crazy, i think we met an angel at Chicfila!
